What Is Beat This Fish?

How It Works

So let me tell you about the 3C's of this website (I wanted to use the letter B, so I could add in beer, but it just wasn't working and this is not a drinking site): Competing, Connecting and Collecting fish data.

COMPETING

There are two ways to compete on this website, catch the biggest fish or catch the most fish. If you have one of the biggest fish, you'll show up on the Leaderboard. The beauty of this area is that you can look and compare on a national level, a state level, or local level to see where your fish stacks up against other fishermen or fisherwomen. We're tracking the biggest fish in different fish categories as well as the overall biggest fish. If you catch the most fish, you'll show up on our Stringerboard. Again, you may show up on a local, state, or national level. For both the Leaderboard and the Stringerboard, we will be announcing monthly and annual Champions. To make it even more exciting, with every fish entered, you'll earn points toward merit badges and advance through experience levels. This should be exciting, as if you needed another reason to head out fishing.

CONNECTING

Like most things in life, fishing is more fun with friends, and a little beer doesn't hurt either (remember, drink responsibly if you are of age). We wanted to create a website that allowed online communities to form based on the love of fishing. In addition to your existing fishing buddies, or your existing fishing club, this is a great place to connect with people with the same passion you have for the sport. Taking that special trip out west for cutthroat trout? Reach out to someone local who can square you away with some great ideas on fishing spots, outfitters, and accommodations. This is also a great way to share photos and videos with friends and family, just to remind them all of just who is the best fisherman or fisherwoman after all.

COLLECTING DATA

Relax, we're not talking about hard core science here or making you suffer through another one of your kid's science fair projects that you "helped" with or did late at night. We want to collect simple data and turn it into powerful information for everyone. The idea here is to collect where you caught the fish, what you used to catch it, and when. This will allow everyone to see where the best water bodies are, what are the hottest lures and baits, and when is the best time to catch'em. Check out our Fish Bytes page - you'll love it.

We hope you enjoy this website and have as much fun as we did creating it. That's about it, oh yeah; there is just one more thing to say; now get out there and BEAT THIS FISH!
